After trying out
the PVC mount from recently, it became clear after Saturday that a few changes were needed for it to be as reliable and useful as it could be. First, a fix was needed for the occasional wobble. The 1/2" PVC is an almost perfect match to the Scotty mount hole diameter, but the PVC is smooth surface enough that it can move around just a tad when it wants to. Also, it seemed like it would be nice to have an arm that could be swung out out and film a bit out from the side, instead of center-on shots only. So, back to Lowe's and a few more PVC parts for mere cents, and back into the garage for a bit more experimentation...
Parts:
1/2" PVC
1 coupling
1 flat endcap
1 or 2 90 degree elbows
1 3-way coupling
1/4" drill bit
1/4 - 20 bolt
1/4 nut
1 washer
1 1/4 wingnut

This one has the little added arm to swing it out to one side and film from off-center |
