O1 Narrow Knife

Despite the really beautiful weather we've been having here for the past few weeks, circumstances in my family have kept me from wandering very far afield. Like everything, outdoors time has an ebb and flow through the year, and it doesn't bother me like it used to, having to be cooped up more than not. Last weekend, I got to channel some energy into designing and making a thin, narrow fixed blade as a concealable EDC knife, but with enough length to make it useful for self defense. I know, I most certainly will never need to use it for that, but I just had the idea and had to see what I ended up with. About 7.5" overall, the blade is 3.5" and the handle right around 4". The handle took some thought though. I was trying to keep it thin, in line with a knife you could sheath inside the waistband or angled in the small of the back. I think thin G10 would be have been a good choice, but since I didn't have any leftover, I went with thin tooling leather slabs covered in resined twine.

My grinds on the last few I've made have all been some kind of nearly full-height convex with a secondary edge. Don't know why, but that's what my hands end up making on their own. Here it is with a Green River Hunter I wrapped a rather long time ago now - still one of my favorite knives.
