Yesterday, a group of our friends from church headed out to the Amicalola area of north Georgia. The original idea was to go to a famous local pumpkin patch, but apparently the same idea was shared by about 400 other folks, because the place was absolutely mobbed. Pumpkins being pumpkins, it didn't take long to see all that the patch had to offer. One of the members of our group is an accomplished kayaking instructor, and he knew of a local falls along the Amicalola River worth checking out - the Edge of the World. It's a terrific stretch of fast water spilling over a series of ledges. With the leaves changing, crisp air,the sun beginning to fade, and clear, quick water, it was a beautiful place to stop for a bit in the evening. It turned out Jeannie and I had been there together while were dating, and I had fished there on several occasions without realizing it was a famous local spot for kayaking and tubing.
